Interview with Chris Savage

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the countryside without having so many friends. It has made me become good at taking care of myself, and to be only with myself most of the time. This fits very well when you're sitting all by yourself, and when you write a lot.
When did you first start writing?
First, since I was brought up in the 40's. Then I started to write full time.
Describe your desk
I have a semi-circular desk in light wood of birch with my laptop on.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, that's was a short story in school about a cat and a dog that's become friends after a heavy fight between them.
What is your writing process?
I have as goal to write a new paragraph every day of my new book
What motivated you to become an indie author?
My love to share me with all that I have experienced, and I've learned through life. Plus, I wish that all could have, and have as good a life as I have now.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
That's when the book is finished, so that the reader can take part of it. And then readers contact me and say thank you for the book, and when they come up with good tips for new books.
What do your fans mean to you?
Without my fans, I would not keep on writing. All the feedback that I get from my fans is indescribable to explain to someone, and who has not received it from their own fans.
What are you working on next?
I always keep on with many different projects at once, and in my field. And therefore there will always be something new that will be completed shortly.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I read on my Android tablet
What do you read for pleasure?
Fiction books, autobiographies, mental health books and life coach books
Who are your favorite authors?
Authors who write simple short and crisply with the pithy content.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It has bespart me a lot of unnecessary time. Then I avoid having to keep on distrubute my e-books out to all the different e-books pages, and which is now available.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Is by word of mouth by those who have read my books.
How do you approach cover design?
I find it, and do it myself, and when I finished writing a book.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Via recommendations from other people as well as blogs, and through previous books I read.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Every day I am out and go and take me a double espresso on the way. I like to photograph and I paint also some paintings and pictures as a hobby.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
That every day brings always something new and exciting to experience and learn.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It is entirely my readers who have inspired me to write it, and without my loyal readers there had never been such a really good book.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
It taught me how strong you can be influenced by something you read, and what changes they can lead to, and what a tremendous impact it can have on a person's life. This is an amazing experience to have been through in my life.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Fiction books, autobiographies, mental health books and life coach books. Because of that I can learn so much from reading them, and moreover, I personally can have very big advantage in my own life too.
