Interview with Niji Neon

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
yes It was Number of Stars I read it twice it was such a good book!
How do you approach cover design?
it's in my head, I draw it out. I have a picture in my head what the cover would be like and how I want it
What are your five favorite books, and why?
1.Number of the Stars because it shows how history was and how can we change it so it wont happen again

2. The Little Critter Books because I loved those books to death as a kid and little critter is so adorable! I'm reading them now to my one year old niece

3. Alicia my Story, because it was a story of hope and one girls story of how she lived through wwII as a Jew in Hitlers reign of terror

4. The Memoirs of a Geisha because it gave me insight and the inside look of what it is to be a Geisha

5.The Poisonwood Diary because it's about how a family once so strong met their demise
What do you read for pleasure?
anything I can get my hands on but I'm not really into science Fiction but give me a good one and I'll give it a chance...
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My desk top computer or my handy dandy iphone six I just need to learn how to put e-books on to it =op
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Places that host websites that make it easy to publish a book something like Hermit when they do an anthology
Describe your desk
clutter but homey inspiring and warm with a cup of tea or hot chocolate and some chocolate cookies to nibble on...
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in New England so we are known for out Ghost and our fall. And fall is my favorite time of year so I write stuff that has that New England feel with a tinge of creepy or something totally different. The weather here is unpredictable so that's how I write.
When did you first start writing?
I've been writing since I was a kid but I could never finish my stories because then a new idea popped in my head or I got to shy to actually publish my works...
What's the story behind your latest book?
I had this idea floating around my head, I write it keep changing it. So I'm still working on it. 'm doing a story based on a girl who grew up with no mother or father just her sisters and how at the tender age of five she gets picked up by a Asian gang member and brings her into his gang and how this love story builds up between them. it will show the ups and downs of love and loss to only gang the love back again. I hope to light a fire under my ass to actually concentrate on it and finish it so I can publish it for you guys. It will be my first ever Book I've published =o) Wish me luck =o)
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I don't know I don't like to play by the rules and I don't like so guy breathing down my neck with some deadline and stressing me out. I like to take my time and make my story good with good strong characters.....I don't when it comes to creative writing be told what to write about or not get paid because my book was not a success in the world of writers. I don't want to be part of the norm. I guess I'm a person who dances to a different beat of the drum... So if you like me that's awesome if you don't just move on and carry on and I will still be doing what I love and that is writing and drawing, dancing and singing etc
