Interview with Ravannah Rayne

What is your writing process?
Brainstorming is a huge part of it which often involves lots of little post its all over my computer screen, looking to see what’s trending and then putting my ideas into actual sentences as it comes to me!
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story that I ever read that impacted me was actually Ann M. Martin's - The Babysitter Club. In junior high I always needed money for things and this gave me the idea of babysitting for money. Something small but years later I remember how I could not wait to read the next installment in the series.
How do you approach cover design?
I do the designs myself. I allow myself time to see the story line unfold and I choose a design that portrays my overall book as a whole.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I typically prefer series versus standalone books!

Top series that I love is the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter Series
The Captive Series
The Protectors Series
The Passion Series
The House of Night Series

They are great vampire series written by very talented authors. I would say the why would simply be because I love paranormal romance/paranormal books that revolve around vampires!
What do you read for pleasure?
Anything paranormal!
What is your e-reading device of choice?
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Custom Mobile Apps
Describe your desk
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the great state of Kentucky and actually yes it did influence me coming from an area that was rich in folklore and workshops for journalism.
When did you first start writing?
Poetry & Short Stories around the age of 9! I have always had a passion for writing!
What's the story behind your latest book?
I am a huge advocate for any organization or campaign to stomp out bullying. I think that its unfortunate that in our day and time that bullying has escalated to the point that so many young children take their own lives as a way out. I think its imperative as parents and adults that we teach children that its okay to to speak up regardless of the situation. Whether you are being bullied at school by another student, at home by a parent or you see someone else being bullied you need to SPEAK OUT!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
