When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Worrying and being frightened
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
A cup of tea and a banana
What are your five favorite books, and why?
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. This story has everything I love - time travel, ghosts and most importantly it says that anybody has the potential to change.
The Sherlock Holmes Collection by Arthur Conan Doyle. I've loved these stories since I was a kid, and I've read them all loads of times. I also love the old films with Basil Rathbone and the TV series with Jeremy Brett, as well as the modern series.
The Call of the Wild by Jack London. I've never felt so emotionally attached to a fictional animal but I don't think I'll ever read it again cos it was just too sad
Down and Out in Paris and London by George Orwell. One of those books I can pick up anytime and start reading from anywhere in the text.
Anything by PG Wodehouse. The King of Comedy. I'd love to believe that the world he created really existed
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
An illustrated book called The Musician of Bremen by the Brothers Grimm was one of the first, when I was a child. It scared me. I still have it somewhere.
