Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes i remember! It's such a beautiful story, i always go back to it and reread it. It motivates me.
What is your writing process?
i don't usually sit and let my ideas float. i take a walk around nature, run, exercise, i feel freely. then, right there it hits me, so many ideas, my imagination goes beyond. pretty cool. i write with looking back.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes, absolutely! It completely changed me. wow, i said to myself, i want to make people feel how i feel. Like water for chocolate by laura esquivel
What do you read for pleasure?
I love reading true life events, Personal biography, Non-fiction, Personal evolvement.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Ipad
Describe your desk
My bed, literally. stones and candles all over, oh and don't forget the incense my goodness can't forget that. Sometimes i throw in a glass of wine for my amusement.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in south street Brooklyn, by that time i wasn't into writing. by the age of 12 i moved to D.R (dominican republic) i learned more about my heritage, my background. i started writing music, poems, personal thoughts. I felt so connected. I thought to myself, i really love writing what the heck! than, one day my dad spoke to me for the very for time about my great-grandfather, he was a writer and a lawyer, He wrote poems, "no wonder i enjoyed writing so much", well let me such say that right there in that moment i knew i wanted to become a writer. Definitely! haha
When did you first start writing?
When i was 12 years old
What's the story behind your latest book?
Its about Magik, (by the way i love spelling magic with a k at the end, incase you were wondering) about this witch full of life and the urge to improve humans lives.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I had spoken to a friend that had connections with people that could help me get out there. i waited, waited, well that day never came. I said to myself, how bad do you really want this carlota? i want it bad. thats how...
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
When i write, it brings be back to that familiar place. its an adventure because i find myself deeper and deeper. I get to know the real me and i fall in love with myself, who doesn't like falling in love? Im fearless, unstoppable, unbreakable, its me and the world. Thats how i like it. Oneness
What do your fans mean to you?
They keep me going, like gasoline to my engine. I love them all!
