When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
A lot of my time is spent with my husband and four sons playing games, going hiking, and day trips on the weekends. I tend to spend what is left of my free time making soy candles as a small side business, that are good for massage therapy and general enjoyment of fragrance, light, and decor or doing collaboration writing with other writing partners.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
A silly, short story when I was a teenager and didn't know how to swim. We were at the beach with family and I went under the waves, then later that day I was standing on the back bumper of my boyfriend's car, reaching in for something and he went to pull something else out, so I lost my balance and fell sideways. Just for the fun of it, I wrote a short little story that the ocean and my boyfriend were each trying to kill me out of jealousy. It was interesting and fun to let my imagination free, even if it didn't make much sense.
What do you read for pleasure?
As a mom with teenage boys, it leaves little time for a carefree romance, though I am lucky to have lived a romance of more than eighteen years so far, with my husband, so my tastes lend towards the adult genre. From there it spans the supernatural, fantasy, drama, suspense, erotica, BDSM, and horror type of books.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
At the moment, my device of choice is a Kinde Fire. I keep hearing about the Samsung tablet, so we'll see...
