I love to cook, and I worry about my own health, along with that of friends and family, but I don't want to give up all of my favorite foods. This led to serious research and experimentation to find ways to make the old things new -- and healthier.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Teaching is not what I did, but who I am. The greatest joy in writing is to share new ideas and information with others, continuing to teach as I go.
What are you working on next?
I will be working on 50 Unusual Containers for Your Garden soon.
Who are your favorite authors?
Anyone I'm currently reading ends up on my favorite authors list, but I keep going back to some childhood authors for inspiration -- Dr. Seuss, Michelle Nelson-Schmidt, Eric Ode, the Grimm Brothers...
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Sometimes I think that the thought of being able to go back to bed is what inspires me to get out in the first place; that's a hard task when I'm snugged up, warm and cozy. Seriously, though, I think the opportunity to share something new with others, especially with children, is my greatest inspiration.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading -- what else is there?!
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
While I do take advice from friends, family and fellow writers, I'm a browser, whether it's in an ebook library or a traditional one. I look at covers, titles and short blurbs until something grabs my attention.
