What is your writing process?
Mostly from my memory, I have a excellent memory, written documents from both the youth and myself, pictures form decades earlier, plus hundreds of others I served with to add resources.
Why do you like serving youngsters after being here over seven decades?
My boss of fifty years and I have four children by birth, three by adoption and over 20 foster children, I began doing mission trips out of country in the 1980's. I soon learned we went to give and yet we were the receivers. I never thought of the blessings that would keep arriving both them and even now. They do not stop.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Bible, as it is written by over 60 author's, is true and tells the story of our CREATOR and CREATION! I possess more than 5 as I have them in multiple locations including my two autos. I like to read and reread them. Even thought I kind of know the scriptures each time I reread them I obtain new overreaching insights. Our soul is deep within each of us and it continues to grow more as our life time moves on. Learning never stops until we go to eternity with JESUS!
What do you read for pleasure?
The BIBLE and other inspirational publications like OUR DAILY BREAD!
What is your e-reading device of choice?
MY Laptop, followed by other devices. I am an old man, retired but not tired.
Describe your desk
My desk and myself are friends. I try to keep it neat, clean and organized,
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Bridgeport, Michigan. I attended school there and did not like to write over half a century them
When did you first start writing?
Kind of in the 1990's. I did not know then what I had to say could be profitable to others.
What's the story behind your latest book?
All about three generations living together. Our daughter approached me a few short years ago asking me to sell the home we were living in and move to a new home 30 feet from them. They have 8 children, from 4 to 17 years of age. This is kind of a new life I never even dreamed about!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I have had businesses and like the economics of e books. I like the abilities, the independence, and the flexibility!
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I am not there yet, but enjoy the possibility.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The ability to inform about the possibilities of youngsters and parents. Never before has there been so much ability to share with others!
What are you working on next?
More MISSIONARY services I and my family have done.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
As an older person I love 24/7. I like being retired but not tired. It gives me the ability to set my own agenda and get many items done for others - especially the 8 grandchildren that life with their mom and dad 30 feet away in a different home. This am I got up at 4am and will go to bed about 10pm.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Working in side and outside our home. About two to four times a day I do taxi service to our grandchildren. Tomorrow I will be making cookies for the homeless and then individually deliver them to homeless people across the street from the capital in Denver, CO.
How do you approach cover design?
Word gives me multiple opportunities. I must use my intuition to think on what is attractive to the parents I am trying to serve in a good way. Opportunities are in multiple places. I am even good at asking other people questions. Then I have to be better at paying attention, listening, plus adopting to what is important to remember.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Reading other peoples suggestions. Then I must evaluate, use important idea's, sharpen them to adjust good idea's for parents to use successfully.
