Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story i ever read was The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, for those who have not read it, the title describes it all, the Tree loved the boy and the boy just took everything, the tree kept giving and giving until she eventually grew depressed. When the boy is now elderly, he returns and the Tree is happy. The book formulated my personality, I now believe that everything living has emotions and deserves the same respect and basic kindness that a human would receive. Even now, I am cautious of how others feel, not just how I feel.
