Interview with Gary O'Shell

What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've always sensed a calling to point people to the heart and life of the Father through Christ. Writing has been a part of my ministry from the very beginning, and for a number of years now, I have been encouraged by many to publish a book. This is hte result of that encouragement.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
They gave me the means to follow through on that encouragement, and I am thankful.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
That in some small way, He uses the writing, which only comes through His leading and inspiration, to bless and nurture those who read them.
What do your fans mean to you?
I don't consider anyone a fan, but a fellow seeker of the heart of the Father. I am blessed when any of them tell me that He used something I've written to draw them closer to His heart.
What are you working on next?
I continue to write essays on what it is to fully live out the Life of His Kingdom here on earth, and on through to His eternity.
Who are your favorite authors?

Beth Moore, really, there are so many.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The many opportunities presented me to know Him more deeply and serve Him more completely.

Online searches.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
No. But it would have been in the mid 1970's.
What is your writing process?
I like to write early in the morning.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
No, but I was raised in a family with a love for reading, and have been a reader from the beginning.
How do you approach cover design?
I seek the help of others.

I believe that the greatest tragedy in the western church today is that we know many truths about the Father, but so little of Him. To know Him we must walk in His heart. This book is my humble attempt to point the way to real intimacy with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It was for me, a walk through the heart of the Father. I hope it will be for you as well.
