Interview with James Sweeney

Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are Samuel Clemens, John Grisham and Raymond Moody, M.D.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I never give getting out of bed a thought. I love my life and enjoy every day.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I enjoy fishing, boating treasure hunting
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I've read paper books both hardback and paperback exclusively. So I've not read an ebook but I will.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
No not at this time. The first story I ever wrote was probably at age seven. I'd need to give this more thought.
What is your writing process?
So far my writing process is to search for inspiration on my subject matter and sort of write the story in my head. When The story has taken shape I sit and write in long hand my story. At this point the story pretty much flows onto the paper. I'll then read the story my wife for her opinion and suggestions. Then I'll rewrite the story again paying more attention to content and grammar. Lastly I type the story onto word for processing. I guess this system could change. For now it is my writing process.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I ever read is elusive to me. I remember reading the "Hardy Boys" series.Perhaps it was the Hardy Boys that told the story of Ra-Arkin? A story of adventure and treasure hunting in Ancient Egyptian pyramids. An early read for me was "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" which I really liked. Both stories and similar themed stories stoked my interest in adventure.
How do you approach cover design?
My cover design came easy to me. I was fortunate to find an excellent professional who quickly presented me with some great cover design concepts from which to choose.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
My favorite books are books on history, finance, healthcare, adventure and the supernatural.
What do you read for pleasure?
I enjoy reading any book about Warren Buffet as I am fascinated with finances. All my reading gives me pleasure but my favorite topics are finance, history, healthcare, supernatural and adventure. Maybe I should write a story about a wealthy physician who researches the history of an old haunted house and pursues a ghost hunting adventure. LOL
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I need to purchase an e-reading device. What is a good choice?
