Interview with Pearl Nsiah-Kumi

When did you first start writing?
I started writing over 40 years ago; however, I published my first book in 2012.
What's the story behind your latest book or series of books?
I don't have a "story", but rather a desire to help Christians grow in the faith - especially newly-born Christians. I believe it's good for new believers to have an overview of what the Christian life entails. In my writings, I've covered Bible reading, prayer, obedience to the Word, fellowship with other believers, and evangelism.
What motivated you to become a published author?
My motivation came from wanting to reach and help Christians on a large scale.
What is the greatest joy of writing?
My greatest joy is the ability to share the gospel and helping Christians grow in their relationship with God.
What do your fans / followers mean to you?
They are my ENCOURAGERS!
What are you working on next?
I am working on a smaller-sized book to encourage distribution at a low cost.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
David Jeremiah, Billy Graham, and Paul White.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The time to be productive is short!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your "free" time?
In no particular order: family, friends, church, reading, and praying.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote? If so, what was it titled and what was it about?
Yes, I remember. It was a short article I titled, "Stop, Look, Listen!" It was inspired by the sign at railroad crossings. It's cautioning the sinner to stop, look, and listen to the voice of God. If one doesn't obey the railroad sign, disaster is sure to happen.
What is your writing process?
I jot down ideas from life and Scriptures, see how they apply - then WRITE!
Describe your desk or preferred writing atmosphere.
A computer or pen and paper, comfortable chair, peace and quiet.
How did where you grew up influence your writing?
Now 'where', but rather life in general. I use applications a lot. For instance, to stay in a hotel overnight, one would need to make a reservation usually ahead of the trip to ensure that upon arrival, there will be a room. Well, if one wants to go to Heaven, one has to make a reservation as well. How? By placing faith in Jesus and, therefore, having one's name in the Lamb's Book of Life before death.
Do you prefer eBooks or print? Why?
Print books all the way!
How would you describe your individual writing style?
Simple and straightforward.
