Interview with Philip Bailey

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
No, I cannot remember the first story I ever read, but, from memory, the first book that had a lasting impact was The Hobbit. It was so well written and triggered the imagination. You know when you are reading a good novel when you cannot put it down.
How do you approach cover design?
This is something I need to work on, but I am happy with my cover for my New to World of Warcraft instruction booklet. It is a screen-shot of my Death Knight character from the game itself. It's colourful and hopefully grabs the attention of potential customers.
What do you read for pleasure?
All sorts, from the classics to fantasy. Love Tolkien and Pratchett. Pratchett because of the way he pokes fun at human conventions.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I don't e-read. Give me a real book any day!
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Too early to answer that question. I reckon it will be good old fashioned paid advertising!
