Interview with Niamh Payne

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first full story I ever wrote was something called "Best Friends; Sleepover", but the first story I ever published was a fanfiction called "Meeting The Toys" on FanFiction.Net
What is your writing process?
Make it up as I go along usually, unless I have an idea and feed off that
How do you approach cover design?
Something relevant to the story, for example, "Don't Hold It Aginst Us" (Wattpad), I used a Funtime Freddy picture and put the Sister Location tagline "You don't know what we've been through" on the cover.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
1. Seekers- it's about bears, need I say anything more?
2. Malory Towers- one of the first books I ever read and I still love it
3. Alex Rider- action, adventure, adrenaline, chase scenes, death. Want anything more?
4. The Princess Diaries- I've loved this since I read the first book and I don't know why. Just something about it, I suppose.
5. Apple and Rain- the realistic side of storytelling. Sarah Crossan writes about things people deal with in real life and it brings a sense of realism to the table and really makes you think.‚Äč
What do you read for pleasure?
Fiction books.
Especially‚Äč Seekers by Erin Hunter
Describe your desk
Errr. what desk?

I write on the computer or on my phone, depending if I'm at home or not. I may write in my notebook by usually an electronic device
When did you first start writing?
I've always been writing, but I really got into it 3 years ago when I was told I got the first level 6 in Extended Writing in my primary school.
What's the story behind your latest book?
"Don't Hold It Against Us" is kind of a fanfiction, but it's also not in a way. It uses FNAF and FNAF SL characters, but thrown into a real-life AU with two sides to them; animatronic and human.
They have to hide their animatronic side as it is illegal to be an animatronic and if you are caught, you are executed. It's kind of like the Witch Craze in the 16th and 17th century where many women were burned at the stake for fear of being a witch.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I really don't know, may inspiring other people through words.
I was always inspired by authors growing up, and I still am!
What are you working on next?
I'm still working on "Don't Hold It Against Us", as well as three other fanfictions called "Meeting The Toys", "Death In FNAF; Case Of Bonnie Bunny" and "Sound Of A Broken Heart".
Who are your favorite authors?
I have so many; IT'S TOO HARD TO CHOSE!!!!
