Interview with R. L. Dodson

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When not writing I love spending time with my 82 lb. four footed baby - Belladonna. She is a brindle pit mix and thinks she is a lapdog.
How do you approach cover design?
I try to match the cover to the characters and theme of the book. I really spend much time on this aspect and am not satisfied until I design the perfect cover.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle Fire.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up on a farm in southern Alabama. This was a great way to grow up. I learned the value of hard work, as well as respect and love of nature. My best friends as a young child were farm animals... every cow, horse, donkey, chicken, dog and cat had a special name.
When did you first start writing?
I wrote my first short story at age six.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I spent 20 years in the criminal justice arena as a law enforcement officer. Heart of Jaded Justice and it's sequel Eternal Justice are part of the justice series. Fiction based on many life experiences.
