Interview with Ronald J Pecorry III

Why do you write?
I believe the pen is mightier than the sword. By picking up that pen and writing, I am pushing back against dogma and lack of critical thinking. Of course, I like that my readers laugh, but I like it even more when people have an "aha" moment, when they start to think about things in a different way because they have seen an issue presented in a different way than expected.
What do you think of free speech?
I am committed to the idea of free speech. We should not make laws to tell people how to think. If you don't like what someone writes or says, then the answer is not censorship. The answer is to present a better idea. You have the right to challenge what I or anyone says. You don't have the right to not be offended by what I write or say. It is an incredibly dangerous idea that because a person is offended, that laws should be made to prevent that offense.
