Interview with Ruth Pettite

Who are your favorite authors?
John Saul and Anne Rice. I love how both of them utilize the concepts of fantasy and "para-activity" in their books. Nothing like a good bit of old school magick to make the time go by nicely.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
People watching and entertaining. I have been in the entertainment industry for so long that everyday seems like I get to play make-believe. It's like walking into an old attic and finding a new adventure every day.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
i don't really pick and choose. I like to read from authors I have never heard of, or first timers. Sometimes their ideas and imaginations will blow you away.
What is your writing process?
Sit. Think. Write. Scratch out. Write. Think. Write.

I have even been known to write in my sleep.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
"Where the Red Fern Grows"

My fourth grade teacher read this to us after recess everyday until the book was over. There wasn't a book report. There wasn't a quiz. Just someone reading to us. The story is so well put together with so many elements that it's hard not to love it.
What do you read for pleasure?
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Kindle. I have it on every electronic device I own.
Describe your desk
"What is normal to the spider is chaos to the fly." -Morticia Addams

Although descriptive and left with a tangle of not so nice emails, "Die, Santa, Die" was written not in Ruth's normal stand point ~ true to fiction. A first place short story, this heavy duty oh so real story left us with spine chilling effects to last a long time.
