What's the story behind your latest book?
My real life marriage to a man with mental illness who was also abusive.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I wanted to share my story to help others.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
This is my first time using Smashwords. However, it was recommended by a fellow writer.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Knowing that my writing makes a difference and is helping others. There is a good life after tragedy and pain.
What do your fans mean to you?
I can't do this without fans, readers or followers. Thank you to all of you!
What are you working on next?
Currently I am blogging at www.elizabethbillingsley.com and thinking about the title of my next book. I wanted to go one way with it but may move in another direction. Nothing is set yet.
Who are your favorite authors?
J. R. Tolkien, Frank Perretti, Lisa Bevere, Suzanne Collins to name a few.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Knowing I can help others as an RN and as a writer. God has great plans for me!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading, learning French, movies and time with friends. I'm also not a bad shopper.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Amazon Kindle App, Google Books or word of mouth from friends.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, I was in highschool. I wrote about three allegorical lands, one a kingdom of men, one of a Great King who loved all mankind and one of a fallen prince who wished to enslave man. I still have it in my blue binder. I have thought of rewriting it and publishing it but have not to this point.
