Interview with Raven Moon

Published 2015-11-29.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
It has helped me cope with losing my father. It has let me escape into a new reality, even if it's just for a little while.
What do your fans mean to you?
You mean my friends :) They mean the world to me. Knowing that they have been there from day one. It means the world to me that have stuck by me through all my ups and downs on this journey and have been my greatest positive influence on finishing my work.
What are you working on next?
I'm in the process of writing the second in the series of Mountains of the Immortals. Can't wait to get it out there. It will a somewhat darker then Destiny of the Witch and more serious.
Who are your favorite authors?
Oh, you had to ask me that didn't you. Ok, I would have to say, Laurell K Hamilton is my biggest. She is the one that got me reading some years ago. I hated to read, yes hated it most of my life. I picked up her book Guilty Pleasures and that was it, I was hooked. I read all of her series of Anita Blake in about 3 months times, books 1 through 17, and I haven't stopped.
To name a few others, L.P.Dover, Alexia Purdy, Tara West, A.O.Peart, Karin Cox, J.R.Rain, Elaine Babich, and the list goes on, sorry I didn't name them, but it would take all night....lol.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My granddaughters. They are my life, my joy, my everything.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
With my family. Taking care of my granddaughters and my mom, not to mention my husband and kids.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Recommendations and when my fav authors bring out new books.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, Destiny of the Witch :) and let me tell you, up and downs and so many rewrites on it and added and taking away...OMGee! What a ride, what stress it caused.
What is your writing process?
Just sit and write what the voices in my head tell me to write.
How do you approach cover design?
I try to do my own until I get it the way I want it, then I ask for honest opinions and go from there.
