Interview with Richardo Douglas

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I ever read and took interest in was a children's book called Ralph and the Motorcycle written by Beverley Clearly. It was about a mouse and a toy motorcycle that he would ride around on. I can remember how vivid the words were in my head! I have been in love with literature from ever since.
How do you approach cover design?
Cover designs are left mostly to my illustrator.
What do you read for pleasure?
Um, any porn magazine will do!
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Don't have a preference for e-readers. Anyone works just fine.
Describe your desk
My desk is artistically arranged, in other words it's a mess! Loose paper, books among a forrest of pens and pencils, all surrounding my computer.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up on the north coast of Jamaica with my aunt. I was exposed to my fair share of experiences that promted me to start writing. First it was poetry expressing my deepest feelings, then it evolved to short storied.
When did you first start writing?
Eight grade.
What's the story behind your latest book?
That's a funny question! It just came out of nowhere. I remember smoking some weed and the next thing, I'm writing about zombies in Jamaica!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
A love for writing.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing is getting the right reaction from the readers. It can really leave you with a warm feeling!
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are my world!
