Interview with Julianna Petite

Published 2017-08-18.
Describe your desk
My desk is always messy - to my shame.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up on a small farm. While Dad was a book keeper, he liked the privilege of having cattle, horses, hogs and goats. Mom and Dad always loved a heathy garden, too. Living in a wooded area on a red dirt road brought a lot a mystery to my childhood.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing as a teen in High School.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book exposes the US government in their deceitful allegations that they want a wall on our southern borders.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I really like the technology behind the method of communication. Writing is not delayed by bureaucrats.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords overall distribution methods and format disseminations appear to be the best in the market. Smashwords handle a whale of formats! That alone will help in options available to readers. That will contribute significantly to a writer's work being available.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
How the page keeps turning because of the intrigue . . .
What do your fans mean to you?
Fans are the bread and butter to a writer's plate. Got to have them!
What are you working on next?
Intrique on the border DOWN MEXICO WAY - to be out in October.
Who are your favorite authors?
Romance Writers - generally historical writers like - Kathleen Woodiwiss (died in 2007) - I still read her work. Madeline Hunter in all of her many series books - starting with "Dangerous in Diamonds"
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
At this time it's the morning school bus - don't want to drive anyone to school these days.
