When did you first start writing?
I started writhing poetry in the sixth grade after one of my teachers gave me a poetry assignment to complete.
What's the story behind your latest book?
All the poems in this book are inspired by the love of my life. In this book you will go on my journey with experiences of love, loss, doubt, and sexuality.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Being able to evoke emotion from my readers. Being able to get them to believe in love once again.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are the reason I continue to write. They give great feedback on the topics I write about and they are very supportive. I love my fans!
What are you working on next?
My next poetry book is going to be about the struggles that minorities and women face daily in this broken system. Inspiring them to be the best that they can be.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My children inspire me to get out of bed each morning, to show them that they can go after their dreams no matter how old you are.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing I spend my time listening to and singing music. I also enjoy cooking and interior decorating. Anything creative, I enjoy doing.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
By asking friends what books they enjoyed reading. I also get ideas from my followers and from other authors.
What do you read for pleasure?
To be honest, I will read anything because it's a love of mine. I really enjoy romance and erotic novels the most.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a housing development( the projects) in a rough neighborhood. This caused me to focus on extra-curricular activities that helped me open my eyes to world outside of my neighborhood.
