Interview with Tyler Craig Nixon

Who are your favorite authors?
Rick Riordan, my writing style is inspired by his.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
To write my book that I've been working on.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I usually watch tv, (specifically Japanese anime), or draw manga.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
By randomly searching.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. It was a cheesy little book called "World Two: Conflict. It held about 25,000 words, and while my writing was decent, the content turned out to be funny (It was meant to be serious).
What is your writing process?
Plug in my headphones and write. If I see an error, I usually stop whatever I'm doing to take note of it and fix it.
How do you approach cover design?
It's rather simple actually. Considering that I did not want to pay for a cover designer, I took a picture and edited it to the best of my ability, and they turn out rather great. I have an eye for design.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Without a doubt, the Percy Jackson series. I grew up reading those books, and Rick Riordan has had a significant impact on my life by writing them. The movies need a reboot, though.
What do you read for pleasure?
Wikipedia articles. I find it to be a very reliable source of information, despite what other people may think.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My phone or my tablet. Usually my tablet if I have it around.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Posting on Facebook. I sent samples (the first chapter) of my book to people I don't know that well, and I send my close friends updated versions of the book. I won't really begin my actual "marketing" until I complete and publish my book.
