Interview with Retter Cire

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
In 8th grade, my crush on a certain blonde haired, green eyed Florida surfer knew no bounds. I'd been writing since I can remember but 8th grade is where my hormones took me over the edge. Yes, I know. Can you believe it? In 1982, I wrote my first erotica with me as the main character and the surfer as the sexy villain who kidnapped me from the school cafeteria and had his way with me in his secret cave. Because, ya know, every surfer has a secret cave.
What is your writing process?
Write, throw it away, write, throw computer against wall. Drink rum. Or vodka. Or something Bond-ish. (repeat)
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes. I snuck a porn novel about a brother and sister from my grandfather's *private* bookcase. Boy, did I get a whooping after that. And, yes, I did get to read it.
How do you approach cover design?
I hire this guy:
Fab, fab, fab!
What do you read for pleasure?
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Marketing? Aw, crap. Guess I should go do that.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Control. It's always about control. I have no intention of handing over characters I love to some organization. I love my characters. Call me crazy. It's okay.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. Let's be honest. Fans are the reason actors, singers and writers exist. We live to please the fans.
What are you working on next?
Murder. Mystery. Sex.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My paycheck. Yeah, I'm shallow.
