Interview with Robin Davis

What is your e-reading device of choice?
Tablet, it allows me to read across all platforms.
Describe your desk
Everything in it's place.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
My childhood years were spent in southern New Jersey, teenage years in New Mexico. Both ecosystems gave me a deeper understanding of nature. Everything from the snapper turtle that eat the wild strawberries before I could in N.J. to tumbleweeds bouncing across the highway in N.M.
When did you first start writing?
Poetry as a teenager.
Who are your favorite authors?
Anne Rice, Dan Brown, J.K. Rowling, Debbie Macomber, Paula Brackston, etc...
What is your writing process?
An idea that bounces in my head for a while. Eventually, the thought becomes overbearing and has to put on paper. Usually, the rest of the story erupts as I'm writing or reviewing.
How do you approach cover design?
Generally, there is a vague picture idea in my head while writing the story. Those thoughts are given tot he designer and I let them have free reign with it.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Seeing the world come to life and dictating it so others can also picture it when they read the story.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Gardening, hiking, knitting, watching movies, and hanging out with my family.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Chance. I rely heavily on the suggestion features after I have exhausted known authors.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
My first writing was in grade school, it was a tacky poem for a class project. Poetry dominated my writing until mid-life, then stories started flowing after writing several education based research papers.
