Interview with Ron Hudson

What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book, Swamp Victim, takes place in the low country swamps of South Carolina. It is a thrilling mystery about an elderly man who loses his wife who has alzheimers when she goes gets away from her care taker and escapes into the swamp. His quest to punish her care taker takes many twists and turns and reveals the life and ways of the people of this region.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I always wanted to write a book, but due to having to raise a family and other survival priorities, I was never able to give it a try. My life style has recently changed and I have the time to embark on this adventure.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords has offer me the opportunity to see my works in writing and distributed to a worldwide audience. I would never have been able to do this otherwise.
Why did you write Desert Victim?
I spent over a year in the Arizona desert gold prospecting out of my motorhome. Going in old gold mines and seeing evidence of former drug operations, I got the idea of writing a novel about illegal drugs.
What made you write Swamp Victim?
Having been born and raised in the low country of South Carolina, I am very familiar with the lifestyle and customs of that area. I thought I would see what I could do about documenting my thoughts, which are not far off from real life during my youth.
