Interview with Sally Marbry

What do you read for pleasure?
Historic Romance novels and history
What is your e-reading device of choice?
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Word of mouth a this point.
Describe your desk
My desk is a clear glass table pushed up against a window where I view the road into our house. To my right are the garages where my Husband works. There is tall foliage that creeps up to eyelevel where hummingbirds forage,a miniature deep pink rose, a huge saucer of a hybiscus, a giant bird-of-paradise, a dangerous variegated cactus, and tall red cana plant is stuffed in the front garden bed under my window. Did I mention a wild spider plant that wants to choke out everything this year?

My desk top has a book style calendar showcasing fine art everyday, a vintage radio just for looks, little piles of precious nonsense under my computer screen, a tier of business clutter, a faux wine bottle made from clay, a carved wooden bird, three glass paperweights, an Asian figurine, a very old wine glass... I could go on. It is very organized, though.
When did you first start writing?
In being a sculptor, there were many hours of sanding and physical work where my mind needed to go somewhere. I always jotted down ideas. I began as a performance writer and throughout the years, of course, I have written in almost every form.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I started to write about wine from the curious desciptions about wine. The writings are so passionate on the back of a bottle that it was natural for me to translate characteristics into creative writing about wine.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I want my drawings and writings to be shared, and I think it is a viable product.
