Interview with SE Veith

Describe your desk
My Desk... This makes makes smile, almost laugh. I don't have one, technically. Technically, I do have one. I do most of my writing while on the go. Making notes in my Smartphone, writing sentences or paragraphs in my tablet... etc. Do I have a physical desk? Yes. It currently holds a monitor with no computer attached to it, a pile of pictures that I need to put into frames, and my drawer full of pens, markers, and pencils.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy is knowing that I can clear space in my head. With so many story idea's popping in and out of the synapses it feels at times like an alternate dimension portal inside my head. Getting them into print allows me to tuck it away and clear space for the new ideas!
What is your writing process?
I think of scenes first. Something that I then work to write around until the scenes are linked. It can be tricky as I will place details and then forget about them later.
When did you first start writing?
This is a moment I still think about as it shows my growth as a writer. Middle school, a fellow classmate and I would trade stories written about the television show Star Trek the Next Generation. It makes me cringe even now to think about it. 'And then Riker said...' 'And then the Captain replied...' Oh it was horrible! But, I treasure that memory as it is a reminder of how far I have come and can yet still go.
Who are your favorite authors?
Jane Austen, Nicholas Sparks, Shakespeare, etc. Jane tops the list though. Definitely!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My husband! If I don't get out he'll tickle my feet!
