Interview with S. J. Lynn

What do your fans mean to you?
Everything! They are why I keep writing. I don't think I will ever get tired of reading their comments and why they've enjoyed my books.
My purpose in writing is to provide a few hours of escape from the real world for them. I'm blessed having the fans that I do.
What are you working on next?
Ooh! Well, it's a different genre than I've been writing, and probably the most I've been excited about. It is a Psychological romantic thriller. I will be writing a sequel to it as well. You won't see much posts about it yet, but they will be coming.
Who are your favorite authors?
Oh jeez! What an impossible question to answer...Anyone that is good! Anyone that can deliver raw feelings and emotions to their readers. Some that come to mind are Iris Johansen, Nora Roberts, Stephen King, Jojo Moyes, Julia Quinn...the list could go on.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Writing. I honestly think about my characters and their lives 95% of the day. It consumes me and I love it.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I will either edit for another author, read, daydream, go for a walk, hang out with friends, or shop! That's it. I'd still rather be home and escape through the pages of a manuscript of mine.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Social media. Or I'll browse kindle...
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Unfortunately, no. I was quite young when I had my first writing adventure.
What is your writing process?
Take an idea/dream of mine and turn it into a reality. I usually start with a scene in can't get out of my head and write around that. I'm horrible at writing outlines, though I wish to try.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Haha. I'm remembering Berenstein Bears for some reason.
How do you approach cover design?
I always want it to capture the tone of the book. So again, I try to take an important scene and base it off that.
Describe your desk
No desk. I write in bed or on my couch.
