I celebrate everything 'indie'. Being an 'indie' author is more in line with my belief that the creative process shouldn't be packaged into a system that works around stylized merchandising or the promotion of certain perspectives and topics. I would love to see a publishing firm prove me wrong. I would love to see one come riding on white horses, spear in hand, riding towards me. They pierce my work, seizing it and gallop off into the sunset, saving my work from getting lost in the sea of unseen books.

The Potion Maker is my latest book. I wanted to write another book that features powerful women. My last book, Mallias the Greek gangster, was a crime-ridden, romance filled journal written in the voice of Markella, a mafia wife. I had an amazing time creating Markella and watching her celebrate her womanhood while trying to find her way in a very traditional world. That book explored facets of womanhood such as victimization, stereotypes, and the sexist perception of roles in society. I wanted to continue creating more 'interesting' female characters, but exploring a completely different side of women, embracing more of the metaphysical aspect, looking at the woman enchantress/sorceress. And I also wanted to write a series. The Potion Maker allows me to do just that because I am writing it in installments. This is my latest project. I love magical realism, mind benders, time travel and edgy topics. This series embraces them all in a story filled with romance, passion, revenge, greed, lust, and a goddess or two among other things!

They are very dear to my heart.
