I really don't have a writing process, I think for most writers they get writers block. But I haven't at that yet. I think the ideas just flows through me at any given time.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
My first story, well I do read a lot of books, but if I had to say which story that had an impact would be To Kill a Mockingbird. I think this one had a real impact because of how people treat each other, and that life itself is not what it really seems.

I was born in Toronto, Canada but I moved to Nova Scotia when I was 9 years old. That's when I starting writing about the people there and how they treated it each racism was thick there and so I was in the front and center of that. So writing became my voice.
It wasn't until I hit my teens however, that my life was turned upside down and I stopped writing, and I went to school and told my teacher, Mrs. Maixne Tynes she was the first Black Published Writer, you can look her up on google. And I told her one day about what happened to me, and she gave me a pen and paper and told me to write. She saved my life and I owe everything to this wonderful mentor.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My upcoming book is called Awakened it is a book of teachings that has been past down from my family, life experiences and of course my extended families that have taught many things about life and how life should be and what we should be fighting for. Over the years, I have been involved in activism, and it was through this learning curve that I have learned so much from people than I ever did in school. And so this book is teachings of everyone that I have ever met and paying it forward in hoping that it will help someone out there.
