Interview with Samantha Beckett

What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean everything to me, without them, I wouldn't have an audience to write to, and have people who enjoy my work, they are who I write for.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Just knowing that today will be a good day, and that I will be able to write.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favourite authors vary from time to time, so at the current moments I like Cassandra Clare, the author of the Mortal Instruments; Stephanie Meyer, for the twilight series so on and so forth.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend my when I'm not slaving at school; reading, watching ALOT of Youtube videos, drawing, things like that.
Describe your desk
My desk currently is not even together, we need another piece of glass to put on it, so currently my desk is called, my bedroom floor.
When did you first start writing?
I started to write proper stories that were longer than a page long, when I was about 7 in primary school, well, that was when I started to write them down, my whole life I have been making up and telling stories from the top of my head, that's how I come up with my ideas for potential books I want to write.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small town called Wainuiomata, and nothing ever really happened there, so I guess it influences me by making up these adventures I wish I could have done when I was younger.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing is that I get to let out all my creative ideas and share them with the people who read my books.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read anything I can get my hands on, as long as I can get into it of course.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
Aside from the fact I don't really read e-books a lot, I will start to now, but generally on my pc, since I can't read on anything else.
