Interview with Saurabh Sharma

What motivated you to become an indie author?
Authors love freedom of expression more than anything else. The word "INDIE" signifies individuality and independence; this is my motivation, I guess.
What is the theme of your book titled The Directionless Son of Brain?
This is a spiritual story based upon human psychology. It's the story of a teenager who is on a journey to find the answers to his questions about life. This seventeen years old boy named Mind is a metaphor for human mind and the various people he meets on his journey represent the different emotions of human mind. That's all I can tell you for now.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
None. Yes, I am not someone who writes for joy. I love it when overflowing joy or emotions turn me into a writer or a poet. :)
What's the story behind your book?
Books are never based upon stories. They are based upon our version of a universal mystery called life; a perception based upon imagination is called fiction and a perception based upon reality is non-fiction. So, the story of my book is an imaginary perception trying to establish some facts.:)
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Love, life and mystery!!
You are a poet, aren't you?
No, I am not a poet. I am a human being who expresses his feelings & emotions through poetry. God/nature/existence is creative. We are the brushes through which these beautiful paintings are being painted on the canvass of life. This is the honest answer to your question.

I am grateful to existence and at the same time, my ego admits that fame & money have become very important factors for survival in this modern era. So, yes, I do act as a poet sometimes even though I understand that poetry expresses itself through me.
What is love?
The right question is this: What is love when it's not for dopamine? :)
Who am I (you)?
I don't know. Nobody knows, I guess. It's a good thing that we do not know who we are because when you know who you are then you limit yourself. Even existence seems to be unaware of its true identity. That's why it is creating, destroying, re-creating, expanding itself from the time immemorial.
What do humans really want? Why do they struggle to find what they really want?
Unconditional love and acceptance for who they are!

We struggle because we are emotional beings with biological instincts and we do not want to accept it. We judge others and others do the same, too; these judgements passed by people give us false perceptions and belief systems. We get hurt; we start acting according to the expectations of others, and love becomes conditional. Each and everyone of us is trying to fulfill certain conditions in order to feel loved and accepted.

Now, you know why you want to become rich and successful, don't you?
Any message for your readers?
I don't want to be a preacher here because my readers do not need any self help. The only thing we need to do is to stop helping those who do not let us be our true selves.

Thank you for your love and support. God Bless!
