Interview with T.J. Blade

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Being able to get lost in a new world and finding new characters there that greet me like we've been pals forever.
Describe your desk
The living room couch with a dog or cat beside me to keep me company. Music is usually playing in the background and it's probably three o'clock in the morning.
When did you first start writing?
It's been so long ago but probably around the second grade. I had a short poem that was published in my school annual.
Who are your favorite authors?
Sherrilyn Kenyon and James Rollins.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Taking care of my animals.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Watching movies or having debates with my family.
What is your writing process?
Once I have an idea, I take the time to think about it more in depth and then start writing. I sort of have a perfectionists' attitude so I have to go back and reread the story before I can go on and finish. After I'm done, I ask my family and friends to read it. Only until they're satisfied will I get ready to publish.
What do you read for pleasure?
Romance books or paranormal. Sometimes I'll add in the occasional sci-fi just for the heck of it.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small rural town where everyone is in each others business. This influenced me because it helped me see people for who they truly are.
What do your fans mean to you?
A great deal. Fans are awesome and are the one's that help me become a better writer.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I had a dream and decided that it was an interesting concept.
