Interview with Sean Cavanagh

What motivated you to write YBAWS!
In this book, you will read about a few transactions that did not close that should have. These deals are what lead me to write YBAWS!. However, my professional consulting career was spawned by the love for my late father and his inability to commercialize his vision. He could always find great opportunity and build it to a level but had limited ability to convert the opportunity to what it had the potential to be. I went to school to learn how to help other “fathers and mothers” in the same situation; to show the visionary they are not the operator they are holding themselves captive to be. YBAWS! hopes to achieve this.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Share my mistakes so others can learn from them and progress further and faster.
What do your fans mean to you?
Cool air on a warm day.
What are you working on next?
If YBAWS! is well received, the next book which will be the blueprint for corporate value and marketability. If there is no attention paid to YBAWS!, I will be working on a tan with the assistance of a pitcher of margaritas. Either way, I am a winner! :)
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
At 50 years old, my bladder is my inspiration, what keeps me out of bed changes each day. I enjoy life and love to live it. Sorry, I am not that deep a person.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
My buddy Jack's sick note, he was slaying demons. His teacher thought he was cute and brave. I was inspired to do the same.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
First grade. Sick note to teacher. I missed class because I was slaying dragons. Someone could have told me dragons were not real. People who lie to kids are the real villains.

I start writing what is on my mind, I then filter it through a bullshit machine and get about 10% back.
How do you approach cover design?
Wine, cheese, salami, french bread, wife, two hours of brainstorming.
