Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
We moved a lot when I was younger. Concord, Ontario. Ajax, Ontario. Picking, Ontario. At one point when I was thirteen we moved to Central America, Nicaragua for 6 months, then back to Ajax, Ontario. I don't know if us moving around more than most kids helped to inspire my imagination but now that i'm writing this, maybe it did.
I liked to stay in my head a lot. My imagination was more interesting to me than what was actually happening around me.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing from when I was young. I would write stories when I was a kid and draw pictures to match the dialogue. As I got older, I got a little into Manga style books but I wasn't as talented with drawing.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I wanted to control what happens to my book. To see if it was as hard or difficult as others say and overcome those struggles.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My imagination comes to life and others can immerse into my world and hopefully enjoy it.
What are you working on next?
Forsaken, Book Two to my Velicious series.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My children and my writing.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Hanging out with my babies and watching them grow, and new experiences they may encounter. Spending time with the hubby. Watching movies and listening to some good old music. Thinking of more ideas for my Velicious Series.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Word of mouth. Recommendations.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
How do you approach cover design?
For me, I wanted something different and unique. Not the generic vampire covers and I found what I wanted.
What do you read for pleasure?
Vampire, paranormal, mystery and romance YA.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I just have a plain old laptop.
Describe your desk
Light brown, three levels. Top holds the printer, incense, scrapp booking stuff. Middle holds my laptop, 1T hard drive, internet box and router. A small box holding our many cell phone charges and usb cables. Bottom holds more scrapping stuff, lol.
