I grew up in India. The land and its diverse languages, festivals, people and regions inspired me. I was fortunate to study there and the learning that I got there is of help during even worst times of my life. My father Gopalan wrote a lot in my native language Tamil and he encouraged me completely, The entire small neighborhood of Chinmayanagar, the school Chinmaya Vidyalaya and temples and parks around are enough to give you a flash of wonderful memories...I cherished every day of my school life and the place I grew up. When I had received letters from former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Former Prime Minister of India Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee for my patriotic poems that I sent them, after listening to their address to the nation, I got huge confidence and inspiration to share my work. Also my poems got very positive feedback when published in newspapers like The Glenview Lantern...These and many other events, gave me the wish and inspiration to become an author
