Interview with Chelsie Satterwhite

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
i grew up in a small town, it was secluded and I was alone most of the time. I was really the only teenager or girl on the street I lived on. This influenced my writing because; I really didn't have nothing to do and I was under a lot of stress so I decided to just start writing and it gave me a sense of a getaway from the world. It just let me express myself in a way words could not.
How do you approach cover design?
I approach the cover design; as if the cover tells the story also. Or gives off the vibe of what the story will be about. Something that draws the attention of someone to read the story or feels interested in it
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind my book is: it has some personal experience to it and it also has maybe what others are going through. This book has a big place in my heart because I know not only can I relate to it. But I know others can and it be like a sense of comfort kind of.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing for me: is just to get away from everything and express the way I feel, or express my creativity.
What are you working on next?
Right now I'm just going to focus on this one book. Then I might bring out the next one I'm working on which will be called; somebody help me?
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean the world to me. Without them I wouldn't know where I would be. They are the best ever.Sometimes they are what helps inspire me about things and make me look at things different so I can find a way to contribute it into the book or use it as inspration.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My parents and my nephew. They are what keeps me fighting everyday and help me not to give up.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I either spend my time listening to music or being creative someway. Most of the time at school since I have started back
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes the first story I ever wrote; it had my sister in it and I had to write it for a 6th grade paper. It had to be based on one day. It was kind of challenging considering the fact I wasn't very good at writing at the time but I did make it through
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing when I was in middle school.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
No I don't actually. But I do remember it having an impact on me. It gave me ideas and did inspire me to write a little bit and try it out but that was pretty much it.
