Interview with Anca Codrea

What is your writing process?
I take notes of what interests me: What I see, What I hear, What i read. Then i let my imagination flow. On this basis I compose my future story.
How do you approach cover design?
Well, as I am a painter, I design my own covers. I love that.
Describe your desk
My desk is always full of things. Papers, books, magazines. Paint. I love this.
When did you first start writing?
When I was 7. My first poem.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I like everything about this indie publishing. You avoid writing many letters to publishing houses which have closed lists of authors, you avoid to have to pay huge amounts of money to publish on paper and it's fun.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
What I like the most is the creative process,i.e those moments when your head is full of ideas and stories and you begin to write the draft without having to think about the format.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
There was a time when I worked mainly in the night.( like now!). Since then, i started to appreciate a lot the mornings. With the time that passes, I appreciate more each beginning of the day.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am blessed to say I like painting too. I do paint a lot and I also make conceptual sculptures.
