Interview with Stormie Steele

First - How did you come up with Life Through The Storm as a series for audio and books?
Life Through The Storm series, is a result of living through various life storms. Overcoming the impact of childhood abuse, learning to forgive and taking personal ownership is a reminder that life exists beyond the storm.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Mmmm...the desire to maintain a sense of autonomy motivated me to become an indie author. I have an outlet to create and maintain my voice.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashword is a door of possibility. Mark Coker's "Secrets to Ebook Publishing Success, Style Guide and Smashword's Book Marketing Guide" is an intelligent approach for first time publishers. Lots of information to ingest.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
One of the greatest joys that I find in writing is that of speaking my voice. The ability to release and to express the heart of my intent is liberating. For me, writing serves as a portal for self-exploration...opening the door for Divine counsel.
What do you hope readers will gain from your writing?
I hope to inspire healing, new life and meaning through my writings. One of the most impacting scriptures for me reads like this: "Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this." ~2 Timothy 2:7 (NIV)

I think at best - if readers who choose to delve into Life Through The Storm book series would simply reflect (consider) some of the insights shared - they would indeed gain an invaluable entry into healing...and all that it offers.
What are you working on next?
My next writing project will be about forgiveness.
Who are your favorite authors?
Some of my favorite authors include; Thomas Merton, Stephanie Dowrick, Cecil Murphy, Thomas Moore & Julia Cameron.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
God (life) inspires me to get out of bed each day! Knowing that I have been given the blessing, the opportunity, the privilege and the ability to "do"...making the most of my "now" is inspiring.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing, I contemplate - I am usually quiet. I do, however - enjoy exploring photography, long conversations with my husband, outbursts of uncontrollable laughter, family, colorful meals, drumming and creating art.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes! I do remember the first story that I ever wrote. It was a story about a little girl who wore a lavender dress. She communed with wind, as she believe the wind communed with her.

The little girl loved to read, draw, dance and sing. That little girl was uninhibited in her creative expressions. The little girl learned to "be".

The Healing Journey encourages the seeker to listen to the voice of Divine counsel – that “still small voice” that attempts to correct inner-conflict. The Healing Journey is a journey of courage – one that challenges the seeker to modify old beliefs and adapt to new found revelations that encourage the development of mind, body & soul integration – Divine entitlement! ~Stormie Steele
