Interview with Teresa Boswell

What are you working on next?
The follow up to "The Key is the Key"
Who are your favorite authors?
I don't have just one favorite, I like so many I cant name them all.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
God, and knowing that he will guide me through that day.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Beading, I make jewelry and Christmas ornaments. Beading is my therapy, I can work through a lot of issues while Beading.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
At the end of each book is a list of other books written by the same author, and sometimes the next book in the series. Most of the time I check out free ebooks. I have discovered some books I would have never read and some I wish I had read the preview first. I discovered a series about some bodyguards, they looked hot on the covers. only to read on about them all being Gay. But never the less I read the entire series, I was hooked, But its really not my cup of tea. (Shocked is what I was)
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes, I was in the 5th grade, it was about two horses we owned. it was only one page long.
What is your writing process?
Sit down and start. I just start writing and see what comes out on the screen. As I write I let the book take me where I go.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I do. It was 'Suffer the Children" I don't remember the authors name, but it was good.
How do you approach cover design?
I think about what I am writing then come up with a cover idea. on " The Key is the Key" I collected keys from ebay and friends. I took the Picture myself of all the keys, I just dumped them on the table and took the picture.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I hated reading in school. When I was 50yrs old I discovered "the Twilight Saga". Yah, yah, yah!, I was hooked. I asked at the book store about other books by this author and found "The Host", Loved it! Than my cousin told me about a book " Bad Elements, Crystal Dragon". I loved the story on all of these books.
What do you read for pleasure?
Romance, Syfy, mostly fiction. I live in the real world I don't want to read about it too.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I got a Kindle for Christmas in 2011 and up graded to Kindle Fire HD in 2013. But sometimes I have to use my Phone, but with my eyes not much.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I am just starting out in this field so I have no idea.
Describe your desk
Weeeell......I have only seen the top of my desk when I moved, both times. I have three desks, ok they are just tables, one for writing, one for beading and one for sewing. but most of my writing is done in bed on my laptop.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in California and moved to Arizona in 75'. It hasn't yet.
When did you first start writing?
in 2011
What's the story behind your latest book?
There isn't one. I mean it has nothing to do with real life. I sit down and start writing.
