Interview with Linna Walton

What are your five favorite books, and why?
My favorite books are books like the search for wondla series, the raven boys and jacqueline wilson books mainly because they are detailed and help me feel like I'm in the world they're living in!
When did you first start writing?
I first start writing when, well I since I could write. I always made short stories and drew pictures to match the story.Right now I'm writing a book that is inspired by the things that actually happen and isn't some fake love story!
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind my latest book is a story about love that is realistic at all angles, it isn't a sad sob story romance, nor is it a 'anything-impossible-' romance either. It's how real love happens, at least from my perspective !
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I wanted to get my story out there. I wanted to be known as someone who did various things and that their stories inspired people, like some books did for me.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing for me is when the words, emotions and settings flow out and what I think is a wonderful chapter!
Who are your favorite authors?
Jacqueline wilson, Tony DiTerlizzi, Maggie Stiefvater, Soman Chainani. These were the authors that inspired not only my writing style but my perspective and imagination as well!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
To go to school, come back and write, draw and do something creative!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing I usually draw or animate or watch anime, read manga or books or watch comedies.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
No not really but one thing I do know is that it probably has mistakes every where!
What is your writing process?
My writing process is to imagine what's going on and then trying to put it into words, describing it the best I can.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I think 'Lost in the snow' was the first story I read that I remember. It had a big impact on me because I wanted a pet ever since!
