Interview with Lady Ola

Published 2016-06-16.
When did you first start writing?
Writing had always been my passion. Since my high school days I have always been part of the Literary and debate society writing articles. But suddenly I became overwhelmed with people's negative words that says I will never be able to write. So I gave it up. But as I stepped into my calling as a Pastor, I started writing devotionals for our church through the leading of the Holy Spirit and two years later, God laid it on my heart to also write women devotionals and that's how my daily devotional "Heart Of A Woman Devotionals was birthed. It's been five years writing devotionals and now God has again inspired me to write my very first book - "Do you know Why you can't feel my pain?"
What Inspired you to write your latest book
I think my life experience and story is something I considered unique. Every painful encounter of my life and the way God helped me to overcome them was something that I have always considered to be a tool of inspiration for someone if I ever get to tell my story. But the last glorious experience in my life was joining my husband to start what has become the largest Church in Saudi Arabia, That was the fire to my inspiration. The risk, the pain, and the victory was something I just couldn't keep to myself and I think the world must know and somebody needs to be encouraged.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
My husband Pastor Victor Aigbogun and my Covering Bishop Joby Brady of the Potters House of North Dallas, my big sister Christine Sloan were the greatest source of motivation for my stepping out into being an indie author. Bishop Joby Brady in one of his visit to our church in Saudi Arabia in 2013 went into the prophetic and prophesied over my life. The message was, God said "Pastor Ola you will write books that will bless people all over the world". My big sister, Christine Sloan, who is a prophetess and an evangelist had also prophesied about this book ten years ago. I doubted, I didn't believe in myself to be good enough to write a book but my husband and my sister had so much believe in me and would not stop encouraging me that I can do it, even when I didn't think I was qualified. Friend, the more you allow the positive words in your ears and mind against the negative words, you can do anything. That is where I drew my motivation from....
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing this book especially after people started reading it, is the testimonies that I receive on a daily basis from people who have been battling with the pain of separation or betrayal and have harbored so much anger and bitterness, struggling to forgive those who have hurt them in the past, but upon reading this book found relief and freedom from such a stronghold and long term agony.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans means the world to mean. Those who do not see your weakness but stick with you through your good times and your bad times are your true fans. They mean everything to me. I have nothing much to offer to those who never mind my humble beginning but lifted me up, I only offer them my heart of love.
What are you working on next?
At the moment, I've not heard God telling me what's next, so I'm going to wait on Him until He leads, I don't do anything outside His leading. While I'm waiting, I will focus on making my first book a successful one by the grace of God.
Who are your favorite authors?
Joyce Meyers, Bishop TD Jakes and Pastor Sheryl Brady are my favorite Authors. I have enjoyed a lot of their books and I will say Their books have inspired me so much.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am a mother and a wife . I consider my day more fulfilled outside of writing when I take care of my babies - my husband and my two young children Gabriel and Rafael. And I have so many people that gets my attention in counseling - I spend some part of my day doing that. And I love to exercise - so the Gym will be my place outside of home and work
How do you approach cover design?
I leave my cover design to the experts, I tell them what I am saying that needed to be seen before they are read. This is my approach and will always be
What do you read for pleasure?
The Bible....This is my most fascinating book and every time I open it, it brings me unexplainable pleasure and that pleasure believe me, translates to life for me. Of course I read novels and love fictions
How do you focus on this book and still able to take care of your family, your church and those who need you..
God has a way of giving you the ground to grow the seed he has given you. I have a very understanding family and I plan ahead I must say. As I go on the book tour I wish to meet new people and bring back a new experience.
Why do you think someone should read this book
You know most times when I am going through something difficult and challenging, my best solutions and answers have always come from those who have been through that path before. We are always looking for answers in every place when we are emotionally bruised. So this book will surely be a great source of relief to people that are deeply cut in their emotions and looking for away to stop the bleeding. I have done my best with this book to present anyone that reads it with what helped me and I belief it will help my readers to come to a place of freedom, closure and strength to move on when stucked with pain of separation or betrayal.
