Interview with Pamela Shepherd

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to cook/entertain people at my home. I enjoy outdoors and fishing if I can get away to do it in a cool breezy day. I love to grow my own vegetables.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first real book I read without teacher instruction was a book called Mar's Hill. First time I was introduced to Science - Fiction and I was hooked.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Mind Game (The Beginning) is: A supreme being is created by a father and daughter scientific team to be used as a weapon of mass destruction by the order of the President who has gone mad. This being is created of the purest form of energy... ORGONE Energy. He is the savior the New America has been waiting for. He stops the extermination and genocide of the diverse population around the world..
What is your writing process?
I write down the story Title, then the characters and what their part is in the story. Then research as much information I need depending on the story itself.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The part of the United States that I live in alone but, I have been given a talent and know I need to share with the world as a gift.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes I do, but it never got any further than the family to read. It was a healing issue for me.
Who are your favorite authors?
JK Rowlings, Stephen King, Koontz, Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens), Louise Hayes.
How do you approach cover design?
I do my own cover design and I try to incorporate the story, the colors involved in the story, and try to put it all together and get input from others if available.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love to read inspirational, spiritual real.
Describe your desk
Wow! That is something that is a book in itself. It is a white folding table that is in my bedroom with one swivel/rocking office chair, one lamps sits on the corner balancing on the edge to distribute light where i need it most; on my keyboard. Cluttered with notes of my current book I'm writing as I'm sure most authors do.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
It is my stress reliever. I enjoy putting my visions as I call them on paper to share with the world if I can. Whether it is in a poem, lyrics of a song, news item or a book I can do anything when I'm writing and I'm at peace with one higher than myself.
What do your fans mean to you?
Fans, who read what I write are so very important to me that I depend on their input on what they have read. It also gives me a more definitive direction for what sells and what they expect to find in the next book. Without them books would be sitting collecting dust.
What are you working on next?
A sequel to the Mind Game. It is the second of four planned. This next one is called Mind Game - The Computer Errors
