Interview with Kavayanna Black

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Akron, Ohio. I like to write about people involved with music in some way, because of the way Ohioans treat music like a religion. At least, the people of northeast Ohio do that. Other than that, it doesn't really affect my writing.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I don't really have one.
When did you first start writing?
Fifth grade.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I got bored.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
What do your fans mean to you?
They are faeries that took pity on me.
Who are your favorite authors?
Don't make me start...Good people who write well. My top three are Stephen King, Barb and JC Hendee, and E. E. Knight.

Those names will change in three hours, so don't worry if I neglected to mention you, author!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The stench of my cat's dirty feet.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Biking, catting (that's a word now), running, fencing, looking at old things with my grandma, and spending time with friends.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
It was a Pirates of the Caribbean fanfiction with a prostitute as the narrator. I still have it on my iPod touch.
What is your writing process?
Think, think, write, write, write, write x63, criticise, revise, and review.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
How do you approach cover design?
My friend helps me.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Published 2016-03-20.
