Interview with Victoria Mendez

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Nashville, Tennesee. And I was home-schooling, so of course I never really had a social life, but I read everyday and thought about writing since it has caught my attention. So now I write every single day!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy of writing is feeling that it is so realistic. All I have to do is put the story in my head and it feels like reality.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean to me so much. They are like family to me. We don't see each other a lot, but we can talk to each other, just like real family. My fans help me every step of the way.
What are you working on next?
Well I'm not quite finish with my first book on Wattpad, yet. But once I am finish I will start on a new book! I have started a little bit on it, but like I said I still have to finish my first book.
Who are your favorite authors?
Oh man... My first favourite author would be Sarah Dessen. I love her books so much. Go Sarah! My second favourite would be Cassandra Clare. I read 3 of her books in a day, totally fell in love with them. And my last favourite would be, Veronica Roth. Amazing! Love her books!
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
What inspires me is that I have a future.. I am looking forward to my future each day. Some day, I probably will publish one of my books. So I have hope everyday. And plus, I wake up to my phone buzzing from my fans. So I need to get up to write(:
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I read. I sing and play guitar. Yes I am a person with another life. And most of all I eat. No, just kidding. I make sure to keep up with all of my fans. To see what they have been up to!
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Wow.. I do actually.. I wrote about a little girl and her friend playing in the backyard until a random puppy showed up giving them kisses. And they lived happily ever after. I was 7 by the way.(;
How do you approach cover design?
I go on goole actually and search the kind of images that I want. Then I change the filter add text and you should probably know the rest. But every once in a while I try to take my own.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
1. Clockwork Angel (I love this book because it has so much meaning to it, plus I picture Will and Jem hot!)
2. This Lullaby (This book seems so real to me. I just love it.)
3. Elsewhere (I love the imagination. Its so different than I ever read before. I read it 6 times in a day!)
4. Point Blank (I read all the series but I have to say this is my favourite. Alex Rider is amazing.)
5. Immortal (It's based on back in the days. In a all girl school. Once you read that part you instantly fall in love, just like I did. And you may fall in love with the characters as well.)
What do you read for pleasure?
I read romance, paranormal-romance, and Teen Fiction. I read all those in a day. Trust me.
Describe your desk
My desk is my bed, I have to say. It has a black comforter and a zebra striped pillow. My bed captures all of my dreams and some memories. So half of that comes into a book. And plus I do my homework in my bed. I do have a desk built into the wall, but I just don't like it.
