Interview with Tracey Osborn

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I enjoy helping others. It's just that simple. Getting my words out to those who really need it makes me happy. I really enjoy the fact that I'm helping the person who just lost their job or the person who is struggling with self-esteem issues. Writing is my passion. I love empowering and inspiring others to succeed via my craft!
What do your fans mean to you?
Fans are vital! Without readers, my e-books would just sit around collecting digital dust! I consider myself very lucky to have a great fan base. I appreciate everyone who reads my books. I try to provide the kind of quality that will let them take something away that will benefit their life.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I do a lot of web research. I enjoy reading blogs and how-to content. Therefore, I read a lot of e-books from bloggers out there on the web, hosted on their own websites. I also go the traditional route and buy from the big online e-book retailers, but I'm all for the blogger out there making a living on his/her own website.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
When I was a kid, I spent most of my time devouring R.L. Stine's books. I absolutely loved his Goosebumps and Fear Street Sagas. I hide his books in my math book and pretended to study while sitting in the back of the class. I stayed up all night with a flashlight and read myself to sleep.

Therefore, it is no surprise that the first story I ever wrote was a mystery. I still enjoy fiction and pick apart every movie and show that I watch. I'm quite a good editor as well. However, as an adult I'm more focused on self-improvement and success books. I enjoy non-fiction. I think my background in Instructional Design makes me a pretty good how-to e-book writer.
What is your writing process?
I think of a topic and brainstorm. I enjoy staying up late and writing while everyone else is asleep. I cherish the quiet time I get when I'm alone. That's when I'm most productive. I also try to make an outline, so that I can organize my work. Even though my works are short, I really strive to provide high quality content to my readers.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I remember being read stories by one of my elementary school teachers. She would dim the lights and read Dennis the Menace to the class. I would be magically transported into the book. My imagination was so vivid back then. She helped to inspire my love of reading.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read news stories. I'm obsessed with CNN. I love reading to increase my knowledge/ educational purposes. I read a lot of the kinds of books I like to write, like business, technical, self-improvement books and informational articles and blog posts.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I like reading on my cell phone, because I always have it with me - even in the bathroom! I can download a wealth of different reading apps, or just read .pdf files.
