What is your e-reading device of choice?
iPad
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I am new at this and have relied heavily on my daughter Genie who is the expert in book marketing.
Describe your desk
Its a walnut circular wood desk with laptop and books on it.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Kenya before moving to Rhodesia, although I was born in England before the War. It didn't influence my writing.
When did you first start writing?
This year after I retired.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I have spent 40 years in the Financial world and decided after I retire to write a do's and don't book that may be able to help anyone do better in this dog eat dog world.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
My daughter is a Smashwords fan and author of many novels - she recommended that in order to reach the most people in the best possible way that instead of taking my small book to a normal publishing house and probably been rejected, that it would be perfect for me to become an Indie instead.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I have not sold my book yet.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Believing in myself and watching my daughter's happiness in my doing so.
What do your fans mean to you?
I don't have any fans yet excepting family.
What are you working on next?
A memoir of my life and its ups and downs.
Who are your favorite authors?
Genie Driscoll
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Looking after my wife who is terminally ill.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
My daughter and grandson recommend them to me.
