Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Gauteng Sebokeng in the era of Vaal Uprising pre 1994 and after the new dawn of demoracy. I found that most of our Black African Stories are not told or written by us, that inspired me to start writing stories about our past and present life.
When did you first start writing?
Since high school in the 1980's beginning with stage dramas, film/ video drama scripts
What motivated you to become an author?
Life events, untold epics and creativity to tell stories

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote? What was it about?
Black Cyborg, a story of an Black Alien visiting the township from the foreign outer space to learn about lie on earth
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Having people astonished about my writing and creativity. Bringing my characters into life and making an impact on readers mind. Triggering the reader's quest to read more of my stories.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
A Sesotho Novel - "Mopheme". It was a well scripted book and trilled me of the events that unfolded and reaching its climax. Reading it made me to want to become a creative story teller too.
What are your five favourite books, and why?
"Things fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe - it tells African Historical Story in an excellent way.
"Tholwana tsa Sethepu" - a Sesotho Drama by Makalo Khaketla potraying the story of polygamous marriage in sesotho tradition.
"The Madonna of Excelsior" by Zakes Mda - A powerful African storyteller of our times including political conotations in his writing.
"Mopheme" by Sebolai Matlosa - its about the cruelty of life experienced by a young man who then retaliate to pay revenge on his assailants.
"Cry the Beloved Country" by Allan Paton - tells about the scourges of Apartheid and its effects of ordinary lives of South Africans.
What do you read for pleasure?
Literary Work by various authors, novels and historical research work
Who are your favourite authors?
Zakes Mda, Mr Mophethe, Dr Lenake, Sebolai Matlosa and James Hadley Chase.
What do your readers mean to you?
Very valuable, i would like to engage with them through my writing and give them the best stories never told before, either creatively or retelling the African tales.
