I grew up in Georgia (USA). My favorite city is Savannah, Georgia. This city inspired my paranormal tendancies. Also growing up around good old southern boys inspired my cowboy romance fettish.

Let's see now. I guess when I was in school. I had a really great creative writing teacher and she inspired me. I've been writing stories of my own for a couple of years.

My latest book The Doctor's Orders was a work in progress for over a year. Then all of a sudden I felt inspired to finish it. I was sitting at the hospital waiting on someone and out walked a handsome doctor. I watched him taking in a pretty woman that walked in the door. All of a sudden I had my pad out writing the story.

I looked into the bigger publishers and realized I could make more money as a self published author. I use the services at Horseshoe Publishing to polish my work up, then I publish it. One day I might try to send something to a big publishing house, but for now I'm happy doing it this way.

Smashwords has been great. I've been able to get my work on several platforms through them. I also get a lot of traffic to my blog through my Smashwords author page.

I guess the greatest joy for me is to see my finished work in my hands. I love to hold a book that says By: V. Steele. That's really cool. The royalty payments are great too, but the big reward is hearing from a fan that loves your work.

I love my fans. I answer every email, question and piece of fan mail I receive. I love to hear from them. It's their opinion that makes my world go round as far as my writing is concerned.

Currently I'm working on the 2nd book in the My Prodigy Trilogy, "The Calm Before The Storm". It's a great series and I'm almost ready to publish this installment. It's a vampire romance based in Savannah. It delves into the lives of a vampire and the woman he falls in love with. He struggles with what he is. The last installment will coming shortly after and it will be "Nadia's Revenge". Keep a watch out for it. Oh and I have a 2nd book in the Chasing Cowboys series. It will be a Christmas romance.

My favorite are Sylvia Day and Lilliana Hart. I love some of the classic romance writers such as Jane Austen too.

I usually search the genre I'm in the mood to read at that time. I like to try out new indie authors. You never know what you'll find in them.

Most of the time I make a few notes and then delve into the story. I've been listening to fellow authors that I follow and have now started to actually write an outline with the newer stories. It's actually helped my form.
